Experimental investigation of heat transfer characteristics of an inverse diffusion flame in a coaxial tube burner for with and without swirl

Heat transfer by flame jet impingement is widely used in many of the industrial and domestic applications like heating metal bars, scrap melting, shaping glass, slab cutting, cooking others. Aim present experimental work to study an effect swirl on a local heat flux distribution inverse diffusion (IDF) impinging flat target surface coaxial tube burner. The twisted tape twist ratio 3 (corresponding number, S = 0.52) create central air shapes distributions are compared for with without swirling IDF under different Reynolds number (Rea) 1000 2500, equivalence (ϕ) 0.4 1.3 burner-to-impingement plate distance (H) 10 100mm. fluxes studied within radius 75 mm from point stagnation plate. Results show that helps clean combustion fuel much shorter height. Swirling enhances peak higher slightly rich conditions ϕ 1.1 at optimal burner-to-target 40 mm.
